Putting a fresh spin on traditional Celtic music, the Jordan TW Trio delivers a dynamic show full of lively fiddle tunes, haunting airs and classic sing-alongs. Fiddler/singer Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki is joined by fellow New Hampshire natives Matt Jensen on guitar and Chris Noyes on upright bass.

The Arts Center is pleased to announce a new series of needle-felting classes with Jennifer Boyd.  Classes and open studio options for both beginning and seasoned felters.  Offered year-round at our annex location in downtown Newport.

Wes McNair presents: Courage to Create: “Mending Broken Things”

Thursday, September 19 at the Library Arts Center, 7:00 PM
Taking a cue from his memoir, The Words I Chose, Wes McNair will give a combined poetry reading and talk titled “Mending Broken Things.” In his memoir he says, “I am a poet who has been shaped from the start by the threat of things dear to me coming apart.” He will show how he has addressed this threat in poems that attempt to repair and restore the broken world.  Free — No Registration Necessary

Letterpress Sessions in our Letterpress Studio

See the link below for session times and details.
For the first time classes are being offered in the recently established LAC Letterpress Studio at the main Library Arts Center location.  In a two-hour class, students will learn the basics of setting type, locking it into the press, and printing on an 1870s manually-operated tabletop platen press.  Students will go home with note cards printed with a quote or sentiment of their choosing, including a picture from an antique printing plate, if desired.  Click HERE for more details.
