The Library Arts Center is pleased to present the annual favorite Juried Regional Exhibition.  This exhibit highlights the diverse and creative talent from regional artists residing in New Hampshire and Vermont.  Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography and mixed media are all featured.   Over 140 entries were submitted for the show from 76 artists in the greater region.   The jurors selected 73 pieces to hang in the show from 53 artists.

Ginnie Lupi has been serving as Director of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts since July 2014.   A working visual artist, she holds an MFA in painting from The University at Albany.

SHOW JUROR, 2023, Watercolor Artist & Instructor

Robert J. O’Brien is a full time award winning artist and popular local, national and international workshop instructor. He has been painting in watercolor for fifty years and studied at the State University of NY at Buffalo as well as with noted artists such as Tony Couch and the late Marshall Joyce AWS NA. He is a signature member of the American, National and New England Watercolor Societies, among others. He recently won the Image Resolutions Award at the 2022 North American Biennial Exhibition of the New England Watercolor Society and Mary Bryan Memorial Award for Watercolor at the 72 nd Academic Artists National Exhibition at Arts Center East in Vernon, CT. In 2021 he won the M. Graham Award at the North East Watercolor Society’s 45 th International Exhibition in Kent, CT, the Madge Macfarlane Memorial Award at the 45 th Transparent Watercolor Society of America Exhibition at the Kenosha Museum of Art, Kenosha WI, and the Gold Medal at the New England Watercolor Society’s Juried
Members Exhibition held at the Guild of Boston Artists in Boston MA.  Robert was the Juror of Awards for the 39 th Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors, in Old Forge, NY in 2020 and co-Juror of Awards for the 151 st International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society in 2018. In 2021, he was featured in the 41st issue of the Art of Watercolour Magazine. Robert serves as the Scholarship Chair for the American Watercolor Society. He lives and paints in Weathersfield, Vermont and teaches workshops throughout the United States, and abroad.

DROP OFF DATES:  Tues. June 6th and Wed. June 7th.   Please schedule a brief drop-off appointment below.  

Accepted work should be delivered to the gallery Tues. June 6th–by appointment between 9am-4pm, OR Friday, June 3rd, by appointment between 10am-3pm.  We are asking artists to schedule a brief, specific drop-off time at the link here:   

Please note that you may arrive a little before or after your scheduled time.  (If you are an artist who is also picking up a piece exhibited in the Black & White Exhibit, please make only one appointment for pick-up/drop-off.)

If you are unable to bring your work on these dates, and you are unable to arrange to have someone else bring your work on these dates, please call or email the gallery to arrange an early drop off. Be sure to arrange to have your accepted work dropped off by these dates, as we will need all work present to arrange the layout of the exhibit. The Library Arts Center *does* accept entry by mail. Please email or call to inform the office if you are planning on mailing your submissions.

**Please make sure your work comes to the gallery exhibition ready, and also be labeled with the artist’s name, piece title, and sale price. ** Unsure of what ‘exhibition ready’ means? Please see this link on our website.  

The Library Arts Center will use the information you provided to us for your entry within the Entrythingy platform for your Name, Piece Title(s), medium, year, and price, unless you let us know otherwise.  You will be asked to confirm this information with your initials when dropping off your work, and sign the loan agreement stated here:

* Each piece displayed in the gallery is insured by the LAC for 70% of its sale value up to $2,500. Pieces that exceed this value will only be insured up to $2,500 in value.

* All pieces in this exhibit are expected to remain on display for the duration of the exhibit, per Library Arts Center policy, artwork is not to be taken out of the gallery early by the artist, or by a purchaser.

* Pick up of work will be on dates AFTER the close of the exhibit on Aug 26th. (Pick-up dates to be announced.)

* Artwork prices set by artists should include the 30% commission to the Library Arts Center. Artists will be paid for sold works at the end of the exhibit.

We hope you will join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 16th, 5-7pm in celebration of all our chosen artists.  This is a great time to interact with the public and other artists.  Light refreshments will be served.
