Office Assistant

10-20 hours per week

The Library Arts Center is ready to bring an Office Assistant onto the team.  Qualified individuals would be able to work between the hours of 11am-4pm for two to four days a week, to be determined, with potential occasional additional evening or weekend hours for special events.  An ideal candidate would be able to create a warm welcome for visitors to this community arts center.

 

Skills necessary for this position include:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to represent the organization and greet and assist community members in the office and at LAC events
  • Strong organizational skills and computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, and the ability to learn new programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain friendly, effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
  • Proficiency in computer technology with the ability to adopt and integrate emerging technologies.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

Daily tasks would include:

  • welcoming and assisting visitors
  • answering the phone
  • upkeep of spreadsheets
  • creation of correspondence
  • creation of calendar listings
  • organization of class lists, exhibit inventories, and event details,
  • assistance with set up and take down of event set up (chairs and tables etc.) when necessary
  • other tasks, as needed
