The Library Arts Center is located at 58 N. Main Street, Newport, NH in a renovated Victorian carriage house to the rear of the Richards Free Library just opposite the Green. The Arts Center’s two spacious galleries display changing exhibits, and are a presenting venue for films, lectures and performances throughout the February to December season.
Classes and workshops take place in our studio space, which is located on the lower level of the building. The entrance to the studio is located down the drive to the right of the Center’s main entrance, and the entry is on the left side. Those taking studio classes should park in the Library/Library Arts Center’s main lot near the main entrance and walk down. No parking is available near the studio entrance.

Tues.-Friday 11:00am to 4:00pm. Saturday 10:00 am-2:00pm Closed Sundays & Mondays.
Please note that the Library Arts Center gallery is only open while exhibits are on display. Office hours are: Tues.-Fri. 11am-4pm. Occasionally, the office does not keep regular hours when the gallery is between exhibits. Please call for more info.
Inclement Weather Closure
In the event that the Newport School District cancels school due to inclement weather, the Library Arts Center will also be closed. Please check local station WMUR or www.wmur.com for cancellation listings.
Directions
Newport, NH is at the junction of routes 10 and 11/103 in the Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee region of western New Hampshire. Newport is approximately 10 miles from exits on the major highways, routes I-89 or I-91.
From Interstate 89:
Take Exit 13 (Grantham exit, Route 10 S) or 12A (Georges Mills exit, Routes 11/103).
From Interstate 91:
Take exit 8 (the Ascutney, VT/ Claremont, NH exit). From Claremont, follow signs to Route 11 and Newport; turn left onto Route 10 N, through town, along the Green, turn left into Library parking lot (large yellow building), follow brick path to right of Library into Library Arts Center galleries.
The Richards Free Library and Library Arts Center are on N. Main Street (Route 10), facing the town common.
