Jazz Concert: Flat Iron Jazz Quartet

Thursday, March 5th | 7:00-9:00pm  Library Arts Center Gallery  |  Tickets $15 advance/$20 at door.

The group Flat Iron Jazz will present a fabulous evening of jazz music in the gallery as a fundraiser for the Library Arts Center. Coffee & Dessert Bar are included. Open, café-style seating.  Find out more, HERE.

Lights, Camera, Civics! NH Institute for Civics Education Screening of To Kill a Mockingbird

Tuesday, Mar. 10th, 6:00pm  presented by the Richards Free Library in the Library Arts Center Gallery

The New Hampshire Institute for Civics Education will screen To Kill a Mockingbird as part of a multi-year statewide program designed to foster conversations with the public on law, justice, and civics. ​The screening will be accompanied by panel discussion with Attorney Barbara Parker; Andrea Thorpe, Library Director of the Richards Free Library; and Newport high school student Eliza Bates.

Virtual Exhibit: Black and White Exhibit:  A Juried Community Group Show

In response to the gallery closure due to COVID-19, the Library Arts Center has chosen to take this exhibit online, rather than cancel it, in order to display all of the fabulous artwork that was submitted.  This fully digital juried community exhibit features artwork of all mediums made in black, white and gray. Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, mixed media etc. are all represented. The wide array of mediums, styles, and themes are connected  by black and white.

The Library Arts Center is pleased to present the annual Members’ Show for the Pastel Society of New Hampshire.  While we are disappointed that we were unable to present this beautiful work in the gallery, as originally planned, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are thrilled to present the show virtually, as it allows for a further reach for the exhibit to be viewed by members of the region and beyond.  We hope you enjoy viewing these stunning pieces in pastel, and we invite you to cast your vote for “Viewer’s Choice!”

Tour some of the most creative gardens in town.  To add to the inspiration, artists will be at work in the gardens, and musicians will be playing in various gardens throughout the day.
