The Library Arts Center presents

CHALK it UP!

Sidewalk Chalk Extravaganza
with Artist-in-Residence Katie Runde

A Community Arts Project of the Library Arts Center

Friday, July 9th  |  5:00-8:00 pm
Newport Community Block Party
Downtown, Main Street

The event has been POSTPONED due to weather.

Free!  All are welcome.

Newport is welcoming sidewalk chalk artist Katie Runde to create a large scale piece on our sidewalk July 9th.  The piece will be created during the day in preparation of its unveiling at the Chamber of Commerce’s Community Block Party, 5-8pm that evening. The piece (approximately 6×11 feet) will depict a child in a sunflower garden. This imagery was chosen as a nod to Newport as the Sunshine Town, and the celebration of the fact that Newport is in a season of growth and hope.

Stop by to see the artist at work throughout the day, and enjoy the finished piece during the block party complete with live music and food trucks.  Meet the artist!  Volunteers will be stationed around town with sidewalk chalk supplies so everyone, of all ages, can spontaneously join in and help us color the town!
