This year’s Master Class will be taking place online through Zoom. Using Zoom is an incredibly useful and powerful way to learn about art and painting. We’re able to really examine everybody’s work individually. I can review and discuss and demonstrate on everyone’s work in a way that can’t be done in person. The beautiful thing about learning about art is that it’s a never ending opportunity to learn and grow, to take ourselves to a new level! There is no better time to learn art than now. We will discuss and learn about the primary foundational concepts that are common to all art, such as, Values, Color, Composition, Drawing, “a la prima” painting, brush work…
This year there will be a special focus on Mood and Atmosphere. There is probably no more useful skill to help you get excited about your own work and to distinguish yourself from other artists. This series of classes is a mixture of Lecture, Demonstration, Question and Answers, Assessment of your work (this is a 100% supportive and encouraging environment!), and technical instruction of paint and paint handling. This class also follows the interests of all the artists, and we have lots of fun conversations and shared insights. It is not a formula method of painting, each person paints in their own style.

Projects will be a jumping-off point to let students’ imaginations soar.
