Art Camp for Grown-ups continues! We're excited a Art Camp for Grown-ups continues!  We're excited about this fun book-making session on TUESDAY, Sept. 15th.⁠

September 15 – Artist Notebook--Book-Maker's Edition⁠
6:30-8:30pm⁠
$18 per participant⁠

Learn the basics of book making and create a zero-waste journal/notebook that can easily be replicated for holiday gifting!  Join book-maker Carol Sullivan in the studio to explore the basics of book making.  Create a journal/notebook made from a single sheet of artist paper for a zero-waste book, as well as other papercrafts.  Enjoy a wide range of beautiful papers to help individualize your book.  While learning basic book making skills, you will be creating one-of-a-kind gifts that you can use as templates to make more at home.⁠

Learn to paint the unique beauty of the historic New England architecture in this fun and creative watercolor workshop. Students will learn elements of composition and perspective as it relates to the subject, as well as painting texture and natural materials, and how to render the unique beauty of light and shadow in a realistic manner. The class will begin with a demonstration by the instructor followed by class painting. A critique and class discussion will be held at the end of the session. This workshop is open to all levels of painting ability. ⁠

Whether you’re picking up a watercolor brush for the very first time or looking to refresh and build your skills, this welcoming three-week class is a wonderful place to explore, experiment and create.⁠

Play with color, light and the beautiful unpredictability of watercolor as you learn techniques for washes, blending, reserving whites, color mixing and more. Through demonstrations, exercises and plenty of hands-on painting, we’ll explore subjects ranging from florals and still lifes to landscapes and water—while developing your own way of seeing and interpreting what you paint.⁠

We’ll also explore palettes and color theory and look to artists including Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keeffe and Skip Lawrence for inspiration.⁠

Come ready to experiment, learn new techniques and enjoy the process of painting! Drawing experience is helpful, but this class is designed to welcome both beginning and continuing watercolor artists.⁠

�Learn the old-fashioned craft of wool applique Penny Rugs, with a modern twist from the Library Arts Center’s famed Gallery of Gifts wool applique and penny rug super star, Candice Labree. All materials and instruction and pattern needed for the project. Enjoy a welcoming fun studio environment while working with Candice on this project. Leave the workshop with a finished piece as well as the skills to continue with this beautiful craft on your own. ⁠
