Apple Pie Crafts Fair 2025

The 51st Annual!

Sat. Aug. 23, 2025 |  9am-3pm | Rain or Shine |  Newport Town Common, Newport, NH

The Apple Pie Crafts Fair is an annual event sponsored by the Library Arts Center. Booth fees help to raise funds for the Arts Center’s many exhibits, classes, and community arts programs.

This iconic Fair features an apple pie contest & sale, live music throughout the day, and food vendors. It is open to both amateur and professional artists and craftspeople and will provide an opportunity to exhibit, market, and demonstrate your work.  The Apple Pie Crafts Fair attracts 5,000+ people to Newport from a range of surrounding communities.

The Apple Pie Crafts Fair is proudly presented by the the Library Arts Center Gallery & Studio–a non-profit community arts organization in the heart of downtown Newport, New Hampshire.  Proceeds from Fair booth sales & the pie sale benefit the Arts Center’s exhibits & programs.

NEW THIS YEAR! Photo REQUIREMENT for CRAFT VENDORS

As the Fair has grown in popularity, so has the number of applicants!  Therefore, in order to keep the Fair a true “CRAFT” Fair, we are creating stricter guidelines for what is allowed for handmade items at the Fair.  All applicants must submit 1-3 photos of either their booth set-up or the items they will be selling for the selection committee to review.  The committee may request additional photos, if needed.

IF you are not able to upload photos along with your application, please be sure to email photos to applepiecraftsfair@gmail.com no later than Monday, Feb. 24th.
**If photos are NOT provided 1) along with your application  OR   2) emailed to the address, your application will be canceled and refunded, and the next vendor on the waiting list will be added.

GUIDELINES & RULES for CRAFT VENDORS:

* HANDMADE ONLY *

Items for sale must be: 

  • 1) HANDMADE

    Types of items allowed at the Fair:

  • Locally handmade crafts such as pottery, sewn items, quilts, crocheted items, wood carvings or boards, handmade candles, soaps, skincare items, jewelry, blown or fused glass
    –Locally handmade maple syrup, honey, jams and jellies 
    –Items such as shirts, stickers, etc. that feature locally illustrated/hand-drawn designs
    –Local artists and photographers showcasing their work, and local authors/illustrators representing their books

  • If you have any questions about whether what you plan to sell at your booth would meet the criteria, please reach out to us at info@libraryartscenter.org.

     

  • Types of items NOT allowed at the Fair:

    –Items that are NOT locally handmade – (items that have been purchased to re-sell, such as jewelry that is not made locally)
    –Re-sale MLM companies such as Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc.
    –Printed items such as signs, shirts, stickers, water bottles, etc. that do not feature the designs of local artists
    –Gemstones/crystals that have been collected/purchased that are not crafted into other items.
    –Live animals such as fish, reptiles, hermit crabs, etc.
    –Raffles of any kind (unless previously approved by the selection committee)

  • 2) HANDMADE LOCALLY  – We consider “local” to mean made by someone who resides in NH or VT, or someone who has ties to our local region (for instance, someone who lives in Sunapee during the summer, or someone who grew up in Newport, etc.)  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

     

  • 3) HANDMADE BY YOU –  You may NOT re-sell handmade items that were created by someone else, or handmade items that were created by artisans overseas (such as jewelry, handbags, etc.)  

     

  • **If your items for sale do not meet all three of the above criteria, then you need not apply.

  • NON-PROFITS:  Please apply as a non-profit organization (NOT as a crafter). There is a very small quota for this category, and spaces fill quickly.
  • Space fees are fully refundable by June 1st, partially refundable by July 1st and non-refundable after August 1st, 2025.
  • No vendor is accepted for booth space until payment is received in full, AND the selection committee has reviewed and approved the application.
  • No booths will be booked on the morning of the fair.  
  • You will be responsible for providing your own display tables, tent (in case of rain and for shade) and managing your own sales transactions.
  • You will be assigned a specific booth space.  A map of booth locations will be posted at the bandstand on the common the evening before the fair, and also on our website www.libraryartscenter.org. 
  • Crafters MUST move their vehicles from around the common after unloading (AND before beginning their booth set-up) in order to make room for customers to park.  NO exceptions will be made. 
  • Registration confirmation will be made via email. Registration confirmation will be made via email. Application and payment does not guarantee selection. Initial acceptance will be emailed within three weeks of your application.

15’x15′ Booth Space on the Common Perimeter – $80
Slightly Larger Booth Space

FOOD VENDORS

Application:  FREE
Booth Space for Accepted Food Vendors:  $80

*Electric is available upon request.
*Generators are preferred, when possible

 If your application is accepted, you will receive an email with a link to complete your registration/payment for the Fair. 

FOOD VENDOR NOTE: The Library Arts Center reserves the right to disallow individual food items where vendor duplication exists or if it directly competes with Apple Pie Crafts Fair offerings (apple pies, apple crisp, etc.). You will be notified of disallowed items, if selected, before fees are due. 

NON-PROFIT BOOTHS

Application:  FREE
Booth Space for Accepted Non-profits:  $60

*Electric is available upon request.
*Extremely limited quota for non-profit booths.
